MySQL Installer Release Notes  /  Changes in MySQL Installer 1.4.9 (2015-08-05)

Changes in MySQL Installer 1.4.9 (2015-08-05)

Functionality Added or Changed

  • A new Uploads folder is now created under the datadir directory.

Also, the secure_files_priv option is now added to the generated my.ini configuration file when MySQL server is installed or reconfigured. The secure_files_priv value is equal to the generated Uploads folder. (Bug #15961613)

Bugs Fixed

  • The Connector/Java product code in the manifest (catalog) was incorrect, which caused the Installer to hang and fail if Connector/Java was one of the selected products. (Bug #21425576)

  • Having MySQL Installer upgrade itself would sometimes fail and generate an unhandled System.NullReferenceException exception, and also emit "MySQLInstallerConsole has stopped working". (Bug #21212004, Bug #77136)

  • MySQL Installer would attempt to install Connector/NET 6.9.x when Connector/NET 6.7.x was selected. (Bug #21201970)

  • The scheduled manifest update would open a new console window when an optional or required upgrade was discovered. The system now waits for the MySQL Installer GUI to be opened before triggering the upgrade process. (Bug #21075124)

  • The Visual Studio Tools for Office 2010 Runtime requirement was clarified for MySQL for Excel. This requirement is different than Office Developer Tools for Visual Studio, which is not a substitute. (Bug #20003181, Bug #74768)
