When you create a HeatWave Cluster, it is started automatically, so the Active. For information on the HeatWave Cluster states, see Section 4.3.1, “HeatWave Cluster Details”.
button is disabled when you first see it. A running HeatWave Cluster shows the stateRestarting a HeatWave Cluster with the
button shuts down the HeatWave Cluster and then restarts it right away. Stopping a HeatWave Cluster with the button stops it without restarting.When a HeatWave Cluster is stopped through a stop or restart action, the data loaded in HeatWave Cluster memory is unloaded. After restarting the HeatWave Cluster, you must reload the data into it from the DB System. The reloaded data includes any changes that occur on the DB System while the HeatWave cluster is offline.
Start, stop, or restart actions on a HeatWave Cluster have no effect on the DB System with which the HeatWave Cluster is associated. However, start, stop, or restart actions on the DB System do also affect the associated HeatWave Cluster. When a HeatWave Cluster is stopped as a result of a stop or restart action on the DB System, any data that was loaded in the HeatWave Cluster is unloaded, then it is reloaded when the HeatWave Cluster is restarted.
To start, stop, or restart a HeatWave Cluster:
In the MySQL HeatWave Console, select the HeatWave Clusters tab.

In the list of HeatWave Clusters, find the HeatWave Cluster you want to start, stop, or restart, and do one of the following:
Click on the row of the HeatWave Cluster to highlight it, and choose the
, , or button at the top of the list.Click the name of the HeatWave Cluster to open the HeatWave Cluster Details page. On this page you can stop, start, or restart the HeatWave Cluster using the same set of buttons.
