6 PrivateLink
A PrivateLink enables you to connect directly to a DB System. A PrivateLink exists between the HeatWave on AWS
Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) and your VPC. You can use the PrivateLink to
query, manage, or configure inbound replication for your DB System. There are
two types of PrivateLink.
- Query PrivateLinks: Provide connectivity from a customer application to a HeatWave on AWS DB System using private IP addresses.
- Egress PrivateLinks: Provide connectivity to an external system running in your AWS account to support Inbound Replication.
Do the following to use a PrivateLink:
- For connecting to your DB System using a client:
- Create a Query PrivateLink in HeatWave on AWS and associate it with a DB System. See Creating a Query PrivateLink.
- Create an endpoint in your AWS account. See Creating an Endpoint for a Query PrivateLink.
- You can now access the DB System over a PrivateLink. See Connecting to a DB System With a PrivateLink.
- For configuring Inbound Replication: See Configuring Inbound Replication over an Egress PrivateLink.
