MySQL HeatWave on OCI can access external data stored on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure. MySQL HeatWave on AWS can access external data stored on AWS. Each service uses its own terminology, however the syntax is generic, and each service can use the same syntax for data stored on that service.

HeatWave Lakehouse provides two methods to access Object Storage:

• A pre-authenticated request.

• A resource principal.
