A MySQL Enterprise Agent monitors a MySQL server and sends data to the Advisors. The data is interpreted and displayed in the Dashboard. The following section describes how to install the Agent on all platforms.

Note

As of MySQL Enterprise Agent 2.3.13, the MySQL Enterprise Agent Installer no longer checks the PATH for a local MySQL Client installation. Instead, the Installer will use the bundled MySQL Client. And as of MySQL Enterprise Agent 2.3.13, the Installer bundles MySQL client version 5.6.

However, the MySQL Enterprise Agent Installer for Solaris 9 and Solaris 10 bundle MySQL Client version 5.1.
