15.7.7.27 SHOW PRIVILEGES Statement

SHOW PRIVILEGES

SHOW PRIVILEGES shows the list of system privileges that the MySQL server supports. The privileges displayed include all static privileges, and all currently registered dynamic privileges.

mysql> SHOW PRIVILEGES\G

Privilege: Alter
  Context: Tables
  Comment: To alter the table
*************************** 2. row ***************************
Privilege: Alter routine
  Context: Functions,Procedures
  Comment: To alter or drop stored functions/procedures
*************************** 3. row ***************************
Privilege: Create
  Context: Databases,Tables,Indexes
  Comment: To create new databases and tables

Privilege: Create routine
  Context: Databases
  Comment: To use CREATE FUNCTION/PROCEDURE

  Context: Server Admin
  Comment: To create new roles

Privileges belonging to a specific user are displayed by the SHOW GRANTS statement. See Section 15.7.7.22, “SHOW GRANTS Statement”, for more information.
