7.5.10.1 Prerequisites

Important

If the validate_password component is installed and enabled, it is not possible to install and configure MySQL REST Service component. If you installed MySQL 26.10 from the YUM or SLES repositories, or an RPM package provided by Oracle, validate_password is installed by default.

In addition to the privileges required by INSTALL COMPONENT, the installing account must have:

• CREATE USER, to create the internal users mysql_mrs_metadata and mysql_mrs_data.

• CREATE ROLE and GRANT ROLE, to create and grant the required roles, mysql_rest_service_meta_provider, and mysql_rest_service_data_provider.
