WL#1331: Versioning in MyISAM

Affects: Server-7.1   —   Status: Assigned   —   Priority: Very High 

In the Bordeaux group leaders' meeting (November 2003),  
"Versioning for MyISAM" was specified as an item for  
version 5.2.  
 
Edwin DeSouza requested that we look into point-in-time 
recovery, as PostgreSQL does it: 
http://www.postgresql.org/docs/current/static/backup-online.html 
This requires maintenance of an adequate log, see WL#1012.
