What Monty wants is a GUI configure like the linux kernel. We should be able to pull their system and reuse it for our own. Use the system in 2.6, not 2.4 (and not Raymond's system). This needs to only work on a UNIX platform, but its output (aka config file) should be transportable to Windows where it can be compiled. Putting this in for 5.0, but it could easily go to a later version. Monty though did promise some magazine that we would have it this year :) In the Bordeaux group leaders' meeting (November 2003), "GUI Configure" was specified as an item for version 5.1.
