On Mac OS X, there are three installation modes:
unattended. For more information on this topic
see Section 8.1, “Unattended Installation”. The
text mode installation for Mac OS X is
text installation under Unix. For
text mode installation instructions see
Section 4.3, “Installing the Service Manager on Unix and Linux”.
Installing the MySQL Enterprise Service Manager on Mac OS X requires at least Mac OS X 10.7.
To install using the GUI (
follow these instructions:
Double-click the MySQL Monitor installer. In the Language Selection dialog, select the language to use for the installer and then click OK.
The remainder of the installation sets up the installation location and the main configuration parameters required by MySQL Enterprise Service Manager. Click Next to continue.
Select the installation directory where you want the
MySQL Enterprise Service Manager components installed. By default on Mac OS X
the directory is
Click the button next to the installation directory field to
select a directory using the File chooser, or type the
directory manually. Click Next to
Configure the options that set the network ports used by the Tomcat server. For more information, see Section 4.1, “Service Manager Installation Common Parameters”. Click Next to continue.
Configure the repository settings, which typically means setting the user name, password and port for the bundled MySQL server that stores the information and statistics for your installation. For more information about using a non-bundled MySQL server, see Section 4.1, “Service Manager Installation Common Parameters”. Click Next to continue.
Next, start the installation process. Click Next to continue.
Once the installation is completed, you receive information on
how to uninstall MySQL Enterprise Service Manager, which is by executing
uninstall.app from your installation
directory. Click Next to continue.
At this point you will receive a warning that reads as follows:
WARNING: To improve security, all communication with the Service Manager uses SSL. Because only a basic self-signed security certificate is included when the Service Manager is installed, it is likely that your browser will display a warning about an untrusted connection. Please either install your own certificate, or add a security exception for the Service Manager URL to your browser. See the documentation for more information
Click Next to continue.
To complete the installation and set up your MySQL Enterprise Service Manager, log in to the User Interface. You can do this automatically by leaving the box checked on the final window before clicking Finish. To skip loading the User Interface at this time, uncheck the box and click Finish.
